Pool Weather

The other day while my family was in town the weather was gorgeous! It got to the point where we decided a day by the pool sounded perfect. So we packed up everything we would need (basically the entire house) and walked to our neighborhood pool. The second we got in there Gavin went nuts! I couldn't get him out of the stroller fast enough. And I made the mistake of deciding to put the sunscreen on him at the pool instead at home. Live and learn. So Gavin & I race to the pool, or walk as quickly as Gavin's little stubby legs would carry him ...

And oh how I wish I had a picture of his reaction! FRIGID! It felt like we were taking an ice bath. Gavin's first reaction was to scream and cry and pull his legs up as high as he could. So we immediately got out. Paige wanted to see V's reaction so I hurried up and got the nerve up to get into the water at least thigh deep to take some pictures. V & Gavin's reactions weren't much different. But as soon as Gavin saw me in the pool he decided that he was brave enough also and headed over. That kid has NO fear! Well, sometimes. He kept making a run (or fast walk) to the pool any moment he thought we weren't around to catch him. Sneaky little booger! But after the first test of the horribly cold water Gavin loved it! Unless his tummy touched the water then you would get this look like he was going to hurt you. It ended up being a fun day at the pool even though we didn't really get in the water. But we did watch a couple of non-suspecting people jump in and immediately shriek and jump out. It was pretty amusing for us all. I'm sure when the weather is in the 100's we will be gladly jumping into that water, but for now I think the bath tub does just fine. Anyways, here are some more pictures from our pool day.
